About Dr Dhanu Sreerangan

Dr Dhanalakshmi Sreerangan, originally from India, moved to Australia in 2009. After completing her Bachelor of Dental Surgery at MGR University in 2009, she achieved Australian registration in 2013 and has since accumulated over nine years of clinical practice. Several achievement awards marked her academic journey, showcasing her exceptional work.

Currently, Dr Dhanu practices in both the public and private sectors and serves as a clinical educator for final-year Sydney University dental students. Starting in the private sector, a passion for public health soon became evident, leading to valuable experience in treating patients with limited access to dental care. This exposure has enabled a meaningful impact on patients’ lives.

Known for her strong communication skills, Dr Dhanu is dedicated to providing high-quality, safe care, building rapport with patients, and ensuring they understand their treatment needs. An approach characterised by ethical, friendly, and gentle care benefits patients, particularly those with dental anxiety. Proficiency in general dentistry, preventive care, acute treatments, complex extractions, relative analgesia (happy gas), root canal procedures, and partial dentures complements a commitment to staying current with the latest dental technologies and advancements through continued professional education.

Outside of work, Dr Dhanu enjoys spending time with her husband and two children, exploring new restaurants, keeping up with Tamil movies, and traveling with her family to discover Australia’s rich heritage.
