About Dr Petunia Jacob

Dr Petunia began her dental career in India at the age of 21 and was honoured with the Colgate Palmolive Gold Medal for topping her studies at Annamalai University. Influenced by her father, a prominent orthodontist and oral surgeon who treated cleft lip and palate, she gained extensive knowledge during her eight years of learning under him.

In 1999, Dr Petunia moved to Melbourne, where she pursued further dental education at the University of Melbourne with a scholarship. Dr Petunia’s career in Australia includes diverse roles, such as positions at Portland Public Hospital, Frankston Hospital, and various private practices in the southeast. Additionally, a practice was established and successfully managed for 13 years before being sold, a decision made after the passing of the first husband and the children’s move to pursue their own paths.

Now living closer to the city with her new husband, who works as a traffic controller in construction, Dr Petunia is excited to continue practicing dentistry in the area. Her focus is on educating patients about proper brushing techniques and maintaining healthy gums, which are essential for overall dental health. Addressing issues such as grinding and clenching that cause jaw pain is also a key part of her approach. Committed to providing the best treatment at a fair price, Dr Petunia ensures that quality dental care is accessible to everyone. Her passion for pain-free dentistry drives her to make each dental visit as comfortable as possible.

Outside of work, she is passionate about modelling and acting for brands and charity, singing in church choirs, and maintaining her fitness through pole fitness. With her two children living in the city, Dr Petunia enjoys a particularly vibrant and fulfilling personal life.
